Our Researchers

Research can be addictive – anyone who has started to join together the threads of a family, community or regimental history will agree that it can become completely absorbing.  The researchers and guides on Spirit of Remembrance share this passion and are available to help with research giving guidance to websites or primary sources like the National Archive, Kew.  For the novice researcher there can be moments of frustration when the facts or information appear to be unavailable and again this is where experience pays off – often there is another route that can be explored.

In addition to research sources in the UK, the rest of the world including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United States and cities throughout Europe have their own superb archives that provide a greater insight. We have a team of genealogists and researchers worldwide

The First World War has some moving and fascinating stories of formations formed from the staff of great country houses or men who returned to Britain from remote farms and sheep stations in the colonies to fight.
