WORLD WAR 1 CENTENARY: 2014-2018: HIGH DEMAND FOR TOURS: BOOK NOW!
Global momentum is building fast for commemoration of the 100 year centenary of the Great War. The period 2014 - 2018 (and beyond) ushers in an unprecedented period of commemoration and remembrance for one of the darkest and bloodiest chapters in human history.
With the UK and Commonwealth countries committing more than £150M over this period for centenary commemoration projects with new and upgraded museums and visitor centres, an extensive array of special events, theatre and plays, publications, books and much more, it is a very special few years ahead! Besides a huge increase in requests for individual family history battlefield visits (Family history is now the second most researched topic online) we are also experiencing large increases in tailor made group bookings for schools, regimental associations and historical groups etc, all wishing to commemorate their own personal and individual moment of history.
Many popular areas and key anniversary dates (Vimy - Canadians, Villers Bretonneux (Anzac Day) Australia, Somme etc) are already very heavily booked for 2014/2015, and premium accommodation is becoming more and more difficult to obtain. Never has it been more true to 'get in early'! Contact us and reserve your place in 100 years of history!
All of our tours are painstakingly and meticulously researched, use expert battlefield guides historians (most ex-military and drawn from the prestigious Guild of Battlefield guides), feature high quality transport and accommodation throughout as well as include many inclusions not included in other operators tours. We also thoroughly research individual client requests for extensive information for their family - using in many cases historical research facilities that are not available to the public, extending to battlefield research where our guides often pinpoint where your ancestor fell in battle.
Our expertise covers both FIRST WORLD WAR and SECOND WORLD WAR tours, personalized journeys with tailor made tours for individuals or families and larger groups for likeminded people, and we also arrange tours for regimental or local associations. Our themed tours are fascinating - and we can also tailor make these to include any special areas of interest you have.
We also recognise the contributions of the Armed Forces in our "Remember Them" section, and with this in mind we actively promote Coming Home who are the fundraising campaign for Haig Housing Trust raising funds to provide specially adapted homes for seriously wounded and injured Service men and women.
We welcome everyone, veterans and their relatives and those researching their family history with our guides helping you fill out many gaps in your family history.
