After Dulwich College and RMA Sandhurst Johnny Walker was commissioned into The Duke of Wellington's Regiment, now 3rd Battalion, The Yorkshire Regiment. He served in the regular army for over 30 years during which time he commanded his Regiment and later an Infantry Brigade.
Following early retirement from the Army he worked for The Orders of St John Care Trust. For several years he led a team
running residential care homes in Lincolnshire, Sussex and Wiltshire. He then joined The Royal British Legion as a Regional Manager supporting 13 Counties in the Midlands; a job he did for nearly seven years.
He became a battlefield guide in late 2006 and has led many tours with schools and armed forces groups to the Ypres, Loos, Somme and Vimy battlefields of The Great War.
He is a member of the Guild of Battlefield Guides and is one of Her Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenants for Lincolnshire.
He is also an expert on First World War tours including: Kitchener's army & the Pals Regiments; Western Front Introduction Tour; World War 2 tours connected with the Fall of France 1940 and Normandy 1944. Johnny also specialises in our VIP Platinum tours for individuals and groups of all sizes.
